What's different about water tank cleaning in JVC
JVC villas typically have a 1,000-2,000 gallon GRP tank on the roof with a booster pump below, and because the surrounding districts are still under construction, fine dust gets past loosely fitted lids and settles as sediment faster than in finished areas; annual cleaning is the minimum here and we recommend checking the lid seal at each visit.
Villa tanks: what the visit involves
A JVC villa’s tank is on the roof, reached by the external stair or a hatch, with the booster pump in a cupboard below. We switch off the pump, close the inlet, drain the tank to the point where the sediment can be removed, scrub the walls and floor, disinfect with chlorine at the right concentration and contact time, rinse thoroughly and refill, then restart the pump and bleed the lines so the taps run clear. The water is off for two to three hours. We photograph the tank before and after so you can see what came out of it.
Construction dust and lid seals
The reason JVC villas need this more than a villa in an established district is the construction around them. Dust gets in through gaps around the lid and the overflow, and it collects as a fine grey layer on the tank floor within months. At every visit we check the lid seal and the overflow screen and tell you if either needs replacing; it is a cheap fix that stretches the interval between cleans.
